I am a Clinical Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Monash University, where I investigated cognitive impairments in individuals with substance use disorders, using a variety of neuropsychological and cognitive tests. I have also received a PhD in the field of Biochemistry and have an interest in the link between the nutrition, brain function and mood. I have experience working with clients in public and private mental health inpatient units, in community organizations (including headspace, Next Step and community DBT services), and as a senior psychologist at specialized LGBTIQA+ services (Equal Ground and Meridian).
I have received comprehensive training in evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions including, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and CBT. Additionally, I have undertaken training in Emotion-focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Affirming approaches to LGBTIQA+ mental health. More recently, my therapeutic approach has been influenced by attachment theory and focussed on developing skills in Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I am interested in supporting individuals and couples to improve their mental health, quality of life and relationships. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults. I am a LGBTIQA+ friendly practitioner who has a good understanding of minority stress. In 2020, I was awarded a Mentally Healthy Community Award during the ACT Mental Health Month Awards for exceptional work with LGBTIQA+ individuals. I have a particular interest in helping people recognise and change their long-standing patterns of thinking, behaviour and relating to others that developed in childhood. I primarily use CBT, Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am a good fit for people seeking to understand themselves, their relationships and those are interested in deeper and longer-term work (weekly or fortnightly sessions over several months/years).

I am a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Psychology Board of Australia. I completed my Master’s in Clinical Psychology and Bachelor of Science (Psychology - Honours)/Bachelor of Commerce at the Australian National University. I also hold a Master of Art Therapy from La Trobe University in Melbourne. Since then, I have worked in various settings, including hospitals (inpatient and the eating disorder program), adult community mental health services, child and adolescent mental health, and trauma-specific mental health services.
I am trained in delivering evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and Schema Therapy. My approach is influenced by trauma-informed and relational-focused therapies, such as attachment theories and psychodynamic therapy. I am particularly interested in helping clients understand their deeper emotional needs and relational patterns, including how they relate to themselves and others, and in the broader context, including their family system and culture. I am interested in helping clients explore the connection between childhood experiences and how they shape our understanding of ourselves and our relationship with others. Drawing upon an evidence-based psychological framework, I tailor my approach to work experientially with individuals to create a kinder understanding of themselves and facilitate changes in patterns of thinking, behaviours and relational style that might keep us feeling stuck.
I am interested in working with adults, adolescents and couples experiencing emotional difficulties, such as depression, anxiety and an ongoing sense of loneliness. I am also interested in working with stress and trauma-related difficulties, relational difficulties, issues around sexuality, gender and identity, as well as difficulties with food, body image and low self-esteem.
I am currently available to take referrals for adult clients.
